Since the launch of the virtual FY 2025 North Star Training, many have had questions about what certificate maintenance or recertification would look like. I am happy to tell you we have established formal certification and certification renewal pathways.
I have attached two PDFs that outline the certification and renewal process in detail and answer common questions. Here is the summary of the renewal process.
After initial certification, in order to maintain the certification, renewal will need to occur every fiscal year (October 1 – September 30).
There are a few different options offered for renewal, including Continuing Education Units (CEUs). You will not have to retake the whole 4-5 hour training and take the exam for renewal if you don’t want to.
Renewal is not mandatory to occur at the start of the new fiscal year. You have until the end of the new fiscal year to complete approved training or CEUs. So, for those who are certified in FY 2025 and wish to remain certified for FY 2026, you have until September 2026 to get approved/take training.
More to come, but North Star will be announcing alternative training offerings to meet renewal requirements to continue offering training at no cost for all resource partners.
